My friend. We spent so much time together when we met at Barbe as freshman. We had an instant friendship. Spent many weekend together around town, on the water, everywhere. We roomed up in Florida on senior trip. Stayed on close touch by phone over the years when I worked away from Louisiana. When work laid off then two hurricanes back to back we reconnected again like we never left. He´d stopping by bring my mother okra from his garden cause he knew she enjoyed it and also enjoyed seeing him and his usual elevated energy and spirit. Lonny was truly one of a kind and it´s true when people say if you knew him when you talked he made you feel like you were his best friend and he yours. Lonny always have so much of himself for joy of others. I think it pleases him dearly to lift others spirits since as we all know he had a surplus of energy and zest. I will miss his name flashing on my phone and answering to "what´s up cowboy !" On the other end. I know Lonny is with our lord and savior Jesus Christ.
Lonny´s faith Had strength enough even for this around him to feel it. I recall working out of state after he passed and things were quiet. I was having a low spot thinking to myself. I was thinking of Lonny and a bird landed on my balcony and began to sing the most beautiful chirps and song . I felt sure it was Him or a bird sent by him to cheer me up. I love you like family Lonny always have and he knows that. I still think of you often and talk to you sometimes like you can hear me and I think you can.
God bless you and your family . You will absolutely be missed and are missed dearly. Lonny and I played ping pong almost every day outside and sweat in the Louisiana heat and let´s just say sometimes it got more than competitive ! Lol
Keep the ping pong table ready buddy so when we see each other in heaven we can play again like we did in my garage. Until then keep watch over those who love you and May God bless.
Love you brother .
Farewell but not goodbye.

What a tremendous heartbreak for Barbe High School and the Lake Charles community. Lonny has been my friend since kindergarten at College Oaks Elementary. There were a handful of us that stayed together from K through graduation in 1987. Although I saw Lonny only once every year or so, we would always talk about good times growing up and he always made me feel like I was one of his best friends. A gift to all that knew him, he will be terribly missed. I pray for comfort for family and dear friends that we may all find some peace in our memories with Lonny. I will never forget his giant smile and giant heart.

What a wonderful person Heaven has gotten!!! Oh Happy Day!
What a beautiful, brilliant, always wanting to make people smile. That’s what I remember about Lonny. He brought a cow bell to our graduation... and when Mr Hammock called his name I remember the bell going off in Burton Collisium.

Lonny was such a special person with a big smile and heart second to none. One of the last times I saw Lonny was at Casa. Even though it was crowded, he made a point to come by with a great big hug and to talk. He never said a word, but he so graciously took care of our tab...such a thoughtful surprise! My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Lonnie will be missed by so many.

It breaks my heart to hear of this tragic news about Lonny. Ogea always had the biggest smile at Barbe and would say the silliest things just to make us laugh or cheer anyone up.
He use to tell me "I might be short but I run through them guys legs and all they can do is look between their legs & wonder what happened bc I just disappeared. But what they didn't know is I reappeared in the END ZONE! Then do a little dance! Don't ever underestimate the short guys!"
You will be missed greatly mostly your contagious smile!
Prayers for the entire family. God Bless

Last time I saw Lonny was at a class reunion many years ago. We chatted and caught each other up on our lives since it has been so long since I had seen him due to me moving out of state. He was such a proud dad filling me in on his two girls and what they were doing. Always a sweet guy. Amanda I am praying for you and your girls.
