Lula Spears Obituary
Mrs. Spears was born on Nov. 12, 1928, in Hayes, La. She was a graduate of Welsh High School and moved to Lake Charles more than 60 years ago. Mrs. Spears was an LPN at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for over 30 years. She was a devoted member of Crossroads Church in Moss Bluff.
There was only on Lula Belle Spears. She was one of a kind. She was a servant at heart. Whether it was for her family or on the job, she served others with love and kindness. She opened her home to so many along the way. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. Her most precious possessions were not things, but people. Her faith In God got her through the many struggles of life. As well as her optimistic and positive attitude that made her who she was inside and out. She loved Jesus and put her trust in Him daily. She was beautiful in every way. She made a mark in the lives of many that will be felt in all our hearts forever.
Those left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Debbie Franklin (Glen); sisters, Barbara McDowell, Shirley Rahbany, and Sondra LaVergne; grandchildren, Missi Stanford, Monica LaCombe, Terry Plummer (Candice), Shane Miller (Crystal), Kari Bailey (Tony), great-grandchildren, Dustin Stanford, Halie LeFleur (Jimmy), Ariel Thigpen, Gage Thigpen, Tanner Bailey, Kamryn Bailey, Tyler Plummer, Sydney Garcia, Trevor Plummer, and Reagan, Lincoln, and Franklin Miller; great-great grandchildren, Stryker and Kase LeFleur.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Myrtle and Ewell Comeaux; children, Katherine Spears Plummer and Jimmy Spears; and siblings, Joyce Rabalais, Roger Comeaux, Tony Comeaux, and Yvonne Lois Comeaux.
A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, in the Johnson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff. Visitation will begin on Tuesday from 4 p.m. and continue following the service until 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until leaving for the burial in DeRouen Lorraine Cemetery in Hayes, La. at 12 p.m.

As others have said, there’s no one like Belle. There aren’t enough words to express how great she was. She was a beautiful person inside and out. She was fun loving, happy and always had a smile. She touched many lives with her acts of kindness . All who knew and loved Belle will miss her greatly .
