Donna,
We are thinking of you and send our deepest sympathy.
I clearly remember going to your wedding, being in Iowa, and meeting your family. Ken, Roger, and I always like to recall the car Homer had where the speedometer changed colors the faster it was driven. The three of us would "encourage" him to speed up so it would turn red. Great memories.

Donna, I will always remember my freshman year at ISU and how you both were my "away from home" family. My roomate, Julie & I would eat ice cream out of the carton on your patio and I would babysit Doug and get scared watching "The Birds". I would attend Church with you and Homer. I remember my mom always joked with Homer about his explanation of "spores" Wish you the best. he will be missed.

I remember Homer well, as I received all of my degrees in Food Technology from Iowa State University. I took various courses from him as an undergraduate student from 1970-73 and he was my advisor for my M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from 1983-89. I really appreciated Homer giving me the freedom to develop as a scientist. I always will remember Homer and Dr. Kraft talking, laughing and singing duets between their two offices down in the "dungeon". I wish all the best to his family in their time of sorrow. I always remember him as a very friendly and caring person and a great mentor.

It was such sad news to learn of Homer Walker's death. I had worked with Homer as a grad. student and later as a faculty member, and always appreciated his advise and his style. I send my condolences to Mrs. Walker , their son and the rest of his family as they work through this difficult time. I hope they know that the thoughts and prayers of many people are with them.
