Michael Leslie Obituary

March 15, 1962-Nov. 30, 2008

Michael Kevin Leslie, 46, of Nevada, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, at First United Methodist Church in Nevada, with Pastor Steve Williams officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mike was born March 15, 1962, in Santa Monica, Calif., to James H. and Barbara L. (Howell) Leslie. He was a 1980 graduate of Nevada High School and a 1984 graduate of Cornell College in Mount Vernon. On May 6, 1989, he married Ellen Brewer in Chicago. He co-owned a show horse and trainer facility in Elburn, Ill.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen Leslie, and daughter, Kimberly, of Elburn, Ill.; his mother, Barbara Leslie, and one brother, Scott (Terry) Leslie, all of rural Nevada; and four nephews, Tyler and Colton Leslie and Christopher and Chase Stout.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Leslie, on July 25, 2000.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.

Chet Ryan Mortuary and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
