Carol Ann Gleber Long passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 79. She was born on Sunday, May 5, 1946, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Louis Jr. and Jaunita Cleveland Gleber. She was a resident of Loranger, Louisiana.
Carol Ann graduated from Loranger High School in 1965. She proudly worked as a telephone operator for South Central Bell for nearly two decades and was a member of The Telephone Pioneers of America. She also volunteered her time with Our Daily Bread Food Pantry and liked to call BINGO for the residents at Landmark Nursing Home. She enjoyed going out to eat and shopping with friends. She loved spending time with her family. Nothing brought her more joy than her family and her faith. She adored Brandi and her girls, Brooklyn, Brylee, and Bailey.
Carol Ann is survived by her son, Joseph Long (Emily); sister, Wanda Capdeboscq (Richard); brothers, Louis Gleber, III. (Veronica), Jake Gleber (Tina); nieces, Yvette Garcelon, Jenean Leneau (Josh); nephews, Ben Gleber (Blaire), Richard Capdeboscq (Lesley), Aaron Capdeboscq (Victoria), and Nana to Carter and Corbin Gleber. Carol Ann will also be greatly missed by numerous cousins and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Louis Jacob Gleber, Sr., her mother, Juanita R. Cleveland Gleber, and her niece, Miranda Gleber Wingate.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Husser, Louisiana, on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at 11:00 am.
Interment will follow in St. Dominic Catholic Church Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home and Crematory of Hammond and Ponchatoula.
