Connie Barrois Whittle, age 67, of Lacombe, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. She was born on March 14, 1958, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Jerry Whittle; sister, Debbie Barrois Martinez (Eric); brother-in-law, Ben Whittle (Frani); aunt, Betty Alberts; nieces & nephews, Jessica (Jason), Adam (Mariana), Geri Ann (Chris), Megan, Matthew, Brad (Jessica), and Kyle (Beverly); great-nieces & nephews, Madison, Maggie, Molly, Andrew, Ellie, Peter, and Paige; cousins, Scott (Terri), Emily (Lerenzo), Zack, Trish (Donald), and Heather (Russ); faithful canine companions, Jake & Sam; and many extended family members and friends. She was "Nanny" to many, "Aunt Connie" to all, "Maw Maw" to Max and Luke, and "CoCo" to Duke and Brooks.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Jason Paul Whittle and Michael David Whittle; parents, Anthony Vernon Barrois and Frances Cecile Booksh Barrois; and brother, Tony Barrois.
Connie had few passions in her life greater than her family and friends. Her greatest attributes were her compassion for others and loyalty to all who knew her.
Her husband Jerry describes Connie as his greatest supporter, most trusted friend, and the love of his life.
Connie had many interests but just loved life in general. She was an avid reader, cookbook author, and deer hunter, and was able to experience big game hunting in South Africa. She loved to travel, attend French Quarter Fest and Food and Wine Fest, and was known to occasionally enjoy a glass of white wine.
Although she regularly attended LSU and Saints football games, her one and only sports passion was LSU baseball, especially at the College World Series.
Connie dreamed of having a place to escape the rigors of everyday life, a retreat of sorts, where she could unwind with her husband and entertain family friends. That dream was realized in 2016 when Jerico Ranch was born. Her most fulfilling moments at Jerico were "Thanksgiving at the Cabin", her and Jerry's annual celebration with family and friends. Connie relished her role as matriarch of Jerico Ranch. She held court in the same spot, where she could be found snuggling with her pups or little ones, playing Pokémon, enjoying an original Lifetime movie on LMN, or satisfying her fascination with forensic science via the ID Channel.
Connie was an accomplished interior designer, operating Connie Whittle Interiors for several years before taking a leap of faith with her husband Jerry to form a construction business. Connie quickly took the reins of the administration side of the new business and left an indelible mark for 15 years. She was tough when she had to be but always in a nurturing way-she valued and respected every employee. You always knew where you stood with Connie.
Connie's laugh was infectious, her compassion profound, and her kindness unwavering. She was loved and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
