Edward Rockey Obituary

Edward Ray Rockey, age 74, of Metaire, LA, left this world on June 13, 2025. Born on February 8, 1951, in Dixon, TN, Ed's journey through life was marked by an unwavering commitment to his family, his country, and his community. Ed valiantly served his country for 14 years, first dedicating 4 years to the United States Marine Corps before continuing his service for another 10 years in the United States Army. Ed was not only a patriot but a beloved husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather. He shared 21 years of unwavering love and support with his wife, Linda Rockey. He is also survived by his sister, Bridget (Ray) Hunter; his daughter, Cherish (Shawne) Cochran; his son, Billy Rockey; his stepchildren, Edwin Yeager and Stephen Yeager; his 11 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. A Graveside Service with military honors will be held at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Dr., Slidell, LA 70460, date and time to be determined.
