Gerald Sexton Obituary

Gerald "Jerry" Dean Sexton, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away March 19, 2026, at the age of 63. He was born January 18, 1963, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, to his loving parents, Bobbie and Elizabeth Sexton.

Jerry's heart was most full when he was with his family. He was the devoted husband of 40 memory-filled years to Margaret "Margie)"Ann Driscoll Sexton and the adored father of Robyn Tara Sexton and Timothy Dean Sexton. His joy multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren, Tarra Nikole and Jayda Margaret Sexton. He is also survived by his siblings, Terry Lee Sexton, Jeannie Kae Fleming, Steve Alan Sexton, and Ronald Dale Sexton, as well as a host of extended family members, all of whom he loved greatly.

Jerry joined the U.S. Coast Guard in 1981. He attended the University of Phoenix where he pursued his interests with the same passion he would later bring to all aspects of his life. Jerry had a talent for the world of technology. His career as an Electronics Technician was marked by a steadfast commitment to duty and a deep sense of pride. Duty stations he was assigned to were numerous, including LORAN stations in the continental U.S., Bering Sea, and the Northwest Pacific, as well as many stateside Commands. Jerry retired a Master Chief in 2008 at ESU New Orleans and was stationed there during Hurricane Katrina in 2006.

Jerry was an avid reader, immersing himself in stories that spanned many genres. His fascination with computers and video games kept him forever learning and exploring the digital frontier.

While Jerry will be greatly missed, his memory will be treasured and kept alive in the hearts of those who love him.

Jerry will be laid to rest in the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors. Memories and condolences may be expressed at www.AudubonFuneralHome.com
