James Tate Obituary

James Mitchell Tate, age 41, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025 in New Orleans. He was a native and resident of Franklinton, Louisiana. He was the son of Lisa Kohla Tate and the late James Edward Tate of Franklinton. He was the younger brother of Janene Tate of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Tate was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mitchell Kohla and Eva Magee Kohla; Clarence Tate, Sr. and Waver Robinson Tate; and Eula Murray. In addition to his mother and sister, Tate is survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton. Services will be held at Faith in the Word Ministry in Franklinton on Saturday, September 27. Viewing will be held at 11 a.m., followed by the funeral service at noon with Pastor Jacob Tate - Officiating. Interment will be at the Winan United Methodist Church Cemetery.
