Katelynn Nicole Strate

Katelynn Nicole Strate, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond, Louisiana. She was born on March 3, 2008, in Covington, Louisiana. Music filled Katelynn's world, a constant companion in her journey. The way she made people laugh was a gift, brightening every room she entered. Her sweetness was genuine, a comforting presence for all who knew her. With a beautiful soul, she touched lives with her kindness and empathy. Her laugh, infectious and warm, could chase away any shadow. She found solace and joy in the melodies that resonated within her. Music was not just a hobby; it was a part of her very essence. Katelynn's spirit, like a beautiful song, will always be remembered.

She leaves behind her daughter, Kaylee Nicole Milagro Cruz; parents, Kristen N. Blow, and Rodney Strate, Jr. (Lesly); siblings, Shelby Strate, Jade Parker, Haley Strate, Victoria Strate, and Piper Strate; boyfriend, Alain Cruz; grandparents, Johnna-Kay and James McGregory, Gerald and Tonya Blow; special cousins and friends, Kinz'Leigh Sanchez and Marley Rodgers; aunt, TT (Jimmie); as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; and countless friends.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Janet and Rodney Strate, Sr.; uncles, James Strate and Aaron Rodgers; and her step-dad, BJ Badger.

Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond from 10:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 p.m.  Interment will follow in Sandhill Cemetery in Ponchatoula.
