Kevin Joseph Dolese, born on November 20, 1953, in New Orleans, Louisiana, was a man whose laughter and love knew no bounds. He was called home on October 3, 2025, in Slidell, Louisiana, after a recent diagnosis of cancer. His life, a testament to selflessness, generosity, and love, was a beacon of joy to all who knew him. He was a gentle caretaker to his family and placed their needs always above his own.
Kevin met and married the love of his life, Vicki Williams Dolese, celebrating their 32nd anniversary in September. Together, their union was a harmonious blend of faith, laughter, and mutual respect. He was a cherished stepfather to Stanley Sellers Jr. (Amy) and Slade Sellers, and a doting Pee Paw to Jacob and Samuel Sellers, who he adored.
Though his parents, Geraldine Prudhomme Dolese and John Linton Dolese Jr., predeceased him, the values they instilled in him shone brightly in his every action. Kevin is survived by his brothers, Michael (Rose) and Gary (Catherine); his sister, Lynn Brooks (Randall); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kevin was raised in Chalmette, Louisiana, and graduated from Chalmette High School. He seamlessly translated his passion for precision and creativity into a fulfilling career as a carpenter. Kevin devoted over 30 years to the Facilities Department at the Michoud Assembly Facility, where his craftsmanship was not only evident in his work but also in the way he built relationships with his colleagues.
Kevin's Christian faith was as much a part of him as his infectious humor. His love for reading the Bible was only rivaled by his love for making others laugh. A true LSU fan, Kevin's enthusiasm for his team was matched only by his skill on the golf course and his proficiency in carpentry-crafting both jokes and furniture with an expert's touch.
Those who knew Kevin would say he was a man who never met a stranger. His generosity extended beyond his immediate circle, touching the lives of everyone he encountered. His loving nature was not just in words but in deeds; he lived his belief that a life for others was the only one worth living.
As we bid farewell to Kevin, we remember a man whose life was a joyous symphony of faith, family, and fun. His legacy is not in the silence of his departure but in the echoes of his laughter and the countless lives he enriched. Kevin, you have finished your earthly course, and while we will miss your presence, we are comforted by the knowledge that heaven is now filled with a little more humor and a lot more love. Rest in peace, dear Kevin, until we meet again.
