Kimberly Merideth Avery

Kimberly Merideth Avery, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family, at the age of 60. Born on March 22, 1965, in Merritt Island, Florida, Kimberly lived a life filled with faith, love, and compassion. She was the heart of her family - a devoted mother, sister, and friend. Known for her strength and joy, Kimberly faced life's challenges with courage and unwavering faith. She cherished time with her children and grandchildren, and found joy in reading her Bible, taking drives, and watching Dr. Phil. Her kindness and strong faith in Jesus touched everyone she met, and her legacy will live on in the countless lives she inspired. Kimberly is survived by her children, Merideth Reed, Joshua Reed, Alonzo Vollentine, and Avery Vollentine Thibodeaux (Aubrey Thibodeaux); her grandchildren, Laikyn Reed, Emery Bugbee, and Reed Bugbee; and her siblings, Meredith Pittman, Judy Rigdon, Tommy Rabadie, and Sonny Cason. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth Rutherford and Thomas Avery, as well as her brother, Larry Trotter, and sister, Gina Cason. The family extends their deepest gratitude to Slidell Memorial, Deaconess Home Health, and Kimberly's dear friend, Janet, for their support during her final days. A celebration of Kimberly's life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Audubon Funeral Home in Slidell, Louisiana. Friends and family are invited to attend and share memories of the beautiful life she lived. A funeral service will begin in the chapel at noon. A reception concluding at 2:00 p.m. will be held following the service. Attendees are encouraged to wear bright colors and celebrate Kimberly's life with joy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Northshore Humane Society or to In Touch Ministries, founded by Dr. Charles Stanley, both of which were deeply meaningful to her.
