Randy Russell

Randy left his earthly body and entered into the eternal Glory on October 22, 2025, after 68 well-lived years. Born in San Benito on January 4, 1957, he was a proud native Texan, and could only be found wearing cowboy boots from the time he began to walk. His family settled in Springfield, LA, where he spent the rest of his formative years. He met and married Carolyn (nee' Ott), his wife of 49.5 years in 1976; and they eventually made their home in Watson, LA. He was a service technician with the Xerox Corporation and Xerox Engineering Services before retiring. Randy enjoyed studying the Bible, being in nature, and his beloved Chihuahuas Dolly and Dixie. He was loyal, had a servant's heart, and was always quick to smile and offer a kind and gentle word. He was also quick to pull a prank! If you ever had a mechanical problem or needed help moving, he was always the first to volunteer.
Randy leaves to honor his memory his beloved wife, Carolyn Ott Russell; his children, Glenn Russell and Jennifer Escher (Roland); grandchildren, Aaron and Emma Escher, and bonus grandson, Chris Escher, as well as his girls, Emma Jo and Savannah Escher.
Preceding him in death is his mom, Valla Ada Stukes Russell; his dad, Virgil Miller Russell; and his fur baby, Chiqui.
Pallbearers will be Chris Escher, William Holmes, Kevin Jeane, Rodney Pierce, Kent Quave, Robert Quave

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Brandon G Thomspon Funeral Home, Hammond, LA., held on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The visitation will resume on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Carter Cemetery in Springfield.
