"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." - 2 Timothy 4:7 With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Mr. Richard Lee Harris, Sr., who departed this life on September 19, 2025 surrounded by family and friends endured a valiant journey marked by love, laughter, and unwavering faith. Born on September 6, 1965, to Mr. and Mrs. Helen Marie Harris Dunn, Richard was a proud son of Tangipahoa Parish, where he was educated in the local school system and formed the foundation of a life rooted in community and compassion. Richard was the devoted lifelong companion of Ms. Twanda Jordan, with whom he shared a bond of enduring love and partnership. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, joy, and the aroma of Richard's favorite dishes-many of which he lovingly prepared with the help of Joseph, whose presence in the kitchen brought him special delight. A man of simple pleasures and generous spirit, Richard found joy in watching sports, entertaining friends, and creating moments of laughter and connection. His home was a haven for fellowship, and his heart was always open to those in need of comfort or camaraderie. Richard leaves cherish his memory Twanda Jordan his life-long companion, two sons Richards Lee Harris, Jr., Joseph Jordan, two daughters Lesha Cousain, Kebranne Lee, two Step daughters Sherrell Jordan, Jillandra Bruce, one Step son Jonathan Jordan, one brother Willie Harris, one sister Carla Abron, grandchildren Carlson, Kiren, Jaycen, Jaeden, Kenjae, Tremaine, Tylaijah, Tevianna, Trevon, and Lonnie, Jr., an uncle Elder Clarence Harris, Sr. a cousin Evangelist Vivian D. Levy and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Richard leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and a family who will forever cherish his memory, his kindness, and the countless ways he made life brighter for those around him. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Father Buckley Watkins, Mother Helen Marie Harris Dunn, he was raised by Ervin Dunn, grandmother, Clara Dudley Harris, grandfather, Plas Harris, Sr., great-grandmothers, Hazella Campbell Garner, Ola Harris, great-grandfathers, Clarence Harris, and Willie Harris, Sr. Though he has finished his earthly course, Richard's spirit lives on in the meals he shared, the games he cheered, and the faith he kept. His life was a testament to endurance, devotion, and joy. Rest well, Richard. Your fight is done, your course is complete, and your faith has led you home.
