Sam Houston Wall

Sam, at the age of 85, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. He was a true patriot who served honorably in the United States Army. Sam also served his community as a Livingston Parish Police Jury for District 8 and was a Deacon for Woodland Baptist Church for over 50 years. In his free time you could find him outdoors gardening, farming, working, or being at the church. Above all, Sam always put his family first. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be forever missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know and love him. Sam is survived by his wife, Margaret Abels Wall; daughters, Donna Wall, Melissa Threeton (Brian), Naomi Devall (Kevin), and Charlotte McLemore (Rick); step-sons, Richard Abels Jr. (Kathleen) and Christopher Abels (Danielle); sisters, Ruth Dufreche, Linda Fendlason (Glynn), and Dorris Decota (Glenn); grandchildren, Steven Erdey (Sloane), Trevor Sanchez, Brian Threeton Jr., Samantha Connor, Jeffry Shaffer (Tara), Kirk Shaffer (Dawn), Morgan Leboeuf (Joseph), Jessica Gainey (Chris), Anastasia Vincent, Andie McLemore, Alex McLemore, Parker McLemore (Maria), Payden McLemore, Julius Wall III, Erica Landry (Brenen), Charley Abels, Carmen Abels, and Covin Abels; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Sam is preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Kennedy Wall; parents, Evelyn Vicknair Wall and Henry Wall; and siblings, Winnie Smiley, Florence Patterson, Dennis "Tinker" Wall, Erwin "Tude" Wall, Gene Wall, Allen "Dick" Wall, Julius "J Boy" Warren Wall Sr., Jack D. Wall Sr., and Minnie Patterson. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the wonderful team at North Oaks Hospice, whose kindness, dignity, and attentive care brought comfort to Dad and our family during a very difficult time. We are especially grateful to Trenice Coleman, RN and Comatrice Dyson, whose loving care and calming spirit were a true blessing. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation at the chapel of Woodland Baptist Church Springfield, LA 70462, on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service 1:00 p.m. Pastor Paul Taylor will officiate with interment will follow at the Woodland Baptist Church Cemetery.
