Shawn Michael Evans, beloved son, brother, and friend passed away on June 13, 2025, in his hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana; he was 46 years old.
Born with an infectious smile and a radiant spirit, Shawn was a source of joy and inspiration to all who knew him.
A proud graduate of L.B. Landry Senior High School, Class of 1997, he followed his passion for beauty and style by attending Delgado's School of Cosmetology. Known for his remarkable talent in hairdressing and makeup artistry, Shawn had a gift for making others feel seen, celebrated, and beautiful–both inside and out. Shawn's flair for fashion and eye for detail were matched only by his warm heart and unwavering loyalty. Shawn's expertise was in high demand, and he had a long list of clients as a traveling beautician. Shawn became a rising star in beauty and fashion shows, competing and performing at events. He lived his life boldly and unapologetically.
To know him was to experience kindness, laughter, and real friendship. He was a committed friend, a steady presence, and a light in the lives of many.
He is survived by his loving mother–Tilly Carroll; his devoted brothers–Edward Evans (Nikki) and Brian Evans (Lana); his lifelong childhood friend–Ronata Ware Lee, who remained a constant in his life; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends and clients who became family.
He was preceded in death by his brother–Tyrone (T-Bone) Evans, and his father–Webster Carroll, Jr.
Shawn's legacy lives on in the beauty he created, the love he gave, and the memories he gifted so freely.
His family invites all who knew and loved him to celebrate his life by remembering the joy he brought to others and the light he shared so generously.
The funeral will be on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Murray Henderson funeral home, 1209 Teche Street, New Orleans, LA 70114.
Pastor Brian Richardson will officiate.
The Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
The Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery, 1257 Lafayette Street, Gretna, LA 70053.
