Terry Pettit Obituary
Terry P. Pettit Jr., of Lacombe, Louisiana, passed away on September 25, 2025, at the age of 44. Born on November 18, 1980, in Slidell, Louisiana, Terry was a beacon of light in the lives of those who knew him.
Terry is the beloved son of Terry P. Pettit and Karen Hogan Pettit and younger brother of Johnathan E. Pettit and Christopher P. Pettit, sharing with them countless memories that will be treasured forever. Terry's role as an uncle to his niece, Cora E. Pettit, and nephew, Johnathan E. Pettit Jr., was one he embraced with joy and pride, always eager to make them laugh and instill in them the values of family and kindness. He is the grandson of Marlene Hogan, who survives him, and he held dear the memory of his late grandparents, Hugh G. Hogan, Vernon H. Pettit, and Eva Lee Pettit. Terry's life was enriched by a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins, each of whom contributed to the tapestry of his life's story.
As a child, Terry loved playing football for the SYFA. He started at the age of 5 and played for 6 years under the great coaching of David "Coach Slick" Levy, Coach Ricky Suprean, and Coach Sammie Spears. He loved playing center because he got to hike the ball and hit guys on other team. Terry was a big ham and loved making silly faces and joking with anyone. He attended Slidell High School for 9th and 10th grade. Due to medical reasons, he was not able to finish but went on to earn his GED when he was 19. At the age of 22, Terry learned how to repair small engines and went to work at Northshore Ace Hardware, however, due to more medical reasons, he had to stop after a year of working.
Terry's interests were as genuine as his personality. He found joy in the simple things in life, such as watching YouTube videos, following political discourse, and unwinding in front of the television. His puppies were a source of happiness, and he could often be found playing with them, each moment a testament to his caring and playful nature.
Terry's memory will be cherished in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were touched by his compassionate spirit. Terry's journey through life was marked by the joy he brought to others, and though he has left this world, the echoes of his laughter and the memory of his kind heart will remain forever.
