I always remember Ben from when our families had an art fair booth together- I think they called it the Free Fair. Everyone contributed their crafts. My brother made funky metal sculptures; I was trained to make `owl´ refrigerator magnets. But Ben did coarse macrame hangers with wooden beads for hanging pots. I thought they were the coolest thing, and it made me feel good to see an adult man who made these things from our neighborhood

What a blessed life he lived. Being a positive contributor to the community was obviously a lifetime commitment. His memory carries on.

Ben was a Mensch. His commitment to my father, Len, represented faithfulness and deduction.
It took great courage to stand by Len through the end, but Ben was a rock.
I will be grateful to him forever for his fidelity to Len.

This wonderful biography of my Uncle Ben really touches me. He brought positivity, inquiry, and caring into his many relationships and expressed himself creatively through music, theater, worship, and activism. He devoted his working life to uplifting individuals and society. What a cool guy! I knew him as a enthusiastic, energetic uncle and it´s great to be reminded of his many involvements and contributions. Thank you, Ben, for all of it. Rest in peace!

Ben was a true disciple of Jesus. I only knew him in the past couple of years, but I learned so much from our conversations. He is the person who asked me, "what will your legacy be"?

I remember Ben as peace activist at First Presbyterian and as a lively member of my parents' social circle. I found this photo of him from 2015 when he attended our annual party to celebrate the wildflowers.
