Judy had many fancy decorations around her house, like the ballerina figurine that I later inherited from her, shown above.

My gramma Judy was a very special person. Every summer during my childhood my sister Sherry and I would look forward to visiting her for a week at her house in Akron, Ohio. As she told us the plans and rules for the week, I would often day-dream, as I was apt to do. I was the "younger" sister and so there was no need to listen, as my older sister Sherry always took care of the job of listening. My gramma would reprimand me saying "Donna, you´re not listening!" Boy, was she right. Every year she would take us to fun activities like bowling, taking tennis lessons, and shoe and clothes shopping. And we also had fun playing in her huge back yard, playing ping-pong in her basement, playing games like Carroms, and playing with the toys she had like the Russian nesting dolls that I was so fascinated with. I learned many valuable lessons from her, such as manners (they were not my strong suit!), how to set the table properly, how to eat a balanced diet (she had been a dietician all her life, after all), and of course the importance of listening. I also learned the importance of presenting myself well from her - she always wanted to look her best and diligently got her hair done professionally every Thursday. She was also always very polite and had a lovely personality.
