Amelia Allred Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Amelia (Amy) Booth Allred, 69, of Anniston, Alabama. She was a bright, shining light who lived her life in the service of others, dedicated to educating children for 44 years. She is survived by her beloved husband, Thomas; her two daughters Meagan Herman (Matt) and Lauren; a brother, George Booth; sister, Mignonne Carmichael (Kenneth); nieces Amy Katherine and Tate; and nephew Taylor. Amy was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church of Anniston and enjoyed playing in the bell choir there. She was deeply passionate about teaching, Christmas, celebrating birthdays, Alabama Football, and most of all her family. She was always positive and kind, hardworking and caring, sweet and quick to laughter. She truly lived her life displaying the love of Jesus through her actions and deeds. We ask that in lieu of flowers, you donate a children's book to the Little Free Library of First Presbyterian Church, founded by Amy in memory of a dear church friend Elizabeth Richardson. Service to be held at First Presbyterian Church on July 31, 2022 at 2:00 PM. We ask that those in attendance wear colorful florals and bright colors to celebrate the joyful life of Amy and bring a bell to ring during songs, one of Amy's favorite features of the Christmas service at her church.

I always enjoyed Handbell practice on Wednesday afternoon at FPC because Amy usually had a funny story to tell from her time at school. She touched so many lives in such positive ways. A candle extinguished way too soon.

Thomas, Meagan, Matt and Lauren,
Amy was a dedicated teacher who loved her students. Tenth Street Elementary was fortunate to have her as part of the faculty. She was one of the sweetest people you would ever want to meet. Please know that we will keep you in our prayers during these difficult days ahead.

I worked with Amy at Tenth Street & Golden Springs Elementary Schools. She was an excellent educator and a beautiful Christian lady. Her enthusiasm was contagious and she will be sorely missed by all.
