Seven years and one day since you've been gone and I miss you just as much as the first day Boo. How blessed Brad and I were to have you as a baby brother. I hope you know always how much you are loved Until we meet again. Love you.

Sweet, silly, loveable Boo! His sister Tiffany has been a forever friend since we first met in college through a mutual friend. Soon after, I met the rest of the family during one of their frequent visits from Indiana to Alabama to check on Tiff. If ever a family has taken in an outsider without a second thought, it was the Onkst bunch. When Brian moved to Jacksonville to begin taking classes, he became the little brother I never knew I wanted. Brian Onkst was a silly gesture, a ridiculous face, and a completely senseless joke at the drop of a hat. He was the polar opposite to the drama that often followed his sister and I around. His off-the-wall humor got us through breakups, reconcilliations, final exams, registrations, and any other disaster we could dream up. My hope is that someday, when they can bear it, his boys can read his story (told through my comments and comments of others who also loved him) and appreciate the legacy he left behind. The tears have come easily and often since I heard the news, but the smiles come too, fueled by precious memories of a sweeter time...times spent in the House on Delwood Drive when youth was everlasting and the most tragic situation we were faced with was that dreaded 730 am class that we knew not to register for. Prayers of peace going up to the entire family but especially to Brian's beloved wife and treasured children, for whom "forever" ended way too soon! Celebrate his life until you meet again...much love!
