Carol Ann Finley, a cherished mother and grandmother, began her earthly journey in Washington, Louisiana on November 28, 1945. She was the only daughter of six children born to the late Henry Parker, Sr. and the late Lilly Silas Collins. Growing up in a Catholic church, Carol developed a strong foundation in faith, which remained a cornerstone of her life. Carol's faith deepened when she joined St. Mark Church of God in Christ in Lincoln, where she was baptized in April of 2012. Her commitment to her church was unwavering, as she spearheaded a building fund and proudly paid off the church's mortgage, exemplifying her strong leadership skills. Carol received her education in Lafayette Parish School System and graduated from Paul Breaux High School. After high school, she attended college at Grambling State University for a couple of years before taking a brave step and joining Job Corp to study nursing. Carol moved to Cleveland, Ohio to pursue a career in nursing and worked at the Cleveland Clinic. In 1974, she secured employment at Ford Motor Company. While living in Cleveland, Carol's life beautifully intertwined with Timothy C. Finley in 1969. Eventually, they were united in holy matrimony and were blessed with two beautiful children, Cedric and Timmi. Ultimately, Carol and her family relocated to Alabama where her career thrived at RMC, Monsanto, and the Anniston Army Depot, from which she retired in 2012 after 25 years of service. Known affectionately as Ms. Bea at work, she approached each day with a sweet spirit and a brutally honest nature that kept her coworkers smiling. Beyond her family, career, and faith, Carol found joy in the simple things of life by watching westerns and pampering herself with manicures, pedicures, and bi-weekly appointments at the hair salon. On Monday, June 16, 2025, Carol Finley completed her earthly journey and transitioned from labor to reward. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Parker, Sr. and Lilly Collins; husband, Timothy C. Finley; and brothers, Henry J. Parker, Jr., Augustus C. Parker, Jerry Parker, and John Parker. Carol's loving memories will forever be cherished by her son, Cedric Finley; daughter, Timmi Finley; grandchildren, Cairah Finley, Alton Richey, Jr., and Emechelle Finley; brother, Michael (Annie) Parker; aunt, Sedonia Robinson; stepsons, Zakee (Amanda) Rashid and Cyril (Lisa) Finley; special children, Darlene Huffman, Jenny Huffman, Cedric Huffman, and Hector Huffman; a host of other family members and friends. Though we grieve her loss, we celebrate the remarkable life she lived, the love she shared, and the legacy she leaves behind. Carol A. Finley's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
