Cora Belle Gilbert Cobb

Funeral service for Cora Belle Gilbert Cobb 71, will be Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 1 pm at the Victory Headquarters Christian Center with Bishop Charles Gregory, officiating. Interment will follow in Eden Hills Cemetery. Mrs. Cobb passed away on August 21, 2025 at Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Cobb's remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to her service. Visitation on Friday, 1 pm until 6 pm, and the Order of Eastern Star Burial Rites at 5:30 pm. Mrs. Cobb lived a life of servitude. Hands of a baker/cook. An early childhood educator. Community activist. A voice amongst voices for justice and civil rights. A leader in her own right. Cora was a member of Zeporah Chapter 901 and #12 District Matron and Patron Council /OES. Associate Matron Zeporah Chapter 901. A soul whose legacy continues to inspire. Survivors include her children: Lemuel Heard Jr (Alfreda), Katrina Heard, DaNita Heard Rogers (Greg), Teenya Heard, Johnathon Cobb (Kelly); a special niece: Felicia "Lisa" Traylor; a longtime friend: Gwen Lane; her grandchildren: Je'Colby, Jasmine, Thomas, Je'Mario, Taniysha, Gregory, Lemuel ll, Catlyn, Johnathon Jr, Ieniya, Kelsey, Courtney, Jay 'Onna, Key'Onna, Jack, Maurice, Brandon; 13 great-grandchildren; her brothers: Harold (Lucille) and Johnie Gilbert; her sister: Fannie Pearl Sturkie: 5 sisters in-law, 2 brothers in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, L.G. and Lillie Mae Davenport-Gilbert, her husband, George Cobb Jr. , and 4 siblings.
