First Sergeant Curtis Lamar Eaves U.S Army Retired, 95, of Oxford Alabama passed away on September 15, 2022. He was a veteran of three wars: World War II, Korean, and Vietnam. He is a former POW of World War II and Occupation Force in Japan. He is a Purple Heart Recipient and other medals include: WWII Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Japan, Ambassador for Peace Medal (Korea), National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medals, Expert Badge Rifle(M-14) and Bronze Stars. A Graveside Service will be held at Forestlawn Gardens on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at 2:30 P.M. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Miller Funeral Home. A Visitation will also take place on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Miller Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. He is survived by his daughter, Donna Marcella Eaves; nieces and nephews, David Ireland (Jackie), Mark Ireland, Elizabeth Ireland Egel (Jerry), Steve Eaves (Diane), Kenneth Eaves, Todd Eaves, Ricky Taylor Eaves, Gail McComb Lockley (Wendall), Diane McComb Braden, Bonnie McComb Travers (Ron), Eldo McComb Jr., Stephanie Howard Buchanan (Vic), Gary Howard, Phillip Howard, Tina Nixon, Timmy Nixon, Tommy Nixon (Farrah), Carrie Creed Shipp, Carl Creed, Ronnie Creed; sister in law, Jo Ann Creed. He is preceded in death by his wife, Edna Ruth Creed Eaves; parents, Julius Judson Eaves and Lillie Mae Bittle Eaves; siblings, Joyce Eaves Ireland, Morris Eaves, Julian Eaves, Harold Eaves, Julius Judson Eaves Jr. (Joy); nephew, Michael Ireland; mother and father in law, James Clyde and Clara Mae Fowler Creed; brother and sister in laws, Virginia "Gwin" Creed McComb (Eldo), Zelma Creed Howard, Mary Daphene Creed Nixon, Ralph Royce "Sunny" Creed, James Benjamin Creed.
