Dawn M. Van Keuren

A Memorial Service for Ms. Dawn M. Van Keuren, 88, of Jacksonville, will be at 11 am, on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. Ms. Van Keuren passed away on June 8, 2020 at NE Alabama Regional Medical Center. Ms. Van Keuren was a native of Pennsylvania and had lived throughout the United States. She was a graduate of Moravian College and a trailblazer for being a woman who worked in many male-dominated fields. She was a friend to animals, especially stray cats, and dedicated much of her time to caring for and feeding them. Ms. Van Keuren was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Jacksonville where she was a member of the Keenagers, participated in Missions, was a member of the Circle of Faith, and sang with the Sweet Spirit Singers. She will be remembered by her community for her kindness and generosity. Ms. Van Keuren is preceded in death by her parents, Col. Edwin Van Keuren and Miriam R. Van Keuren; brother and sister-in-law, Col. Edwin Van Keuren Jr. and Barbara A. Van Keuren; and nephew E. Jeffrey Van Keuren. She is survived by her niece-in-law, Barbara M. Van Keuren; grand-niece, Beth Van Keuren; grand-nephew, Ben Van Keuren; and many dear friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Jacksonville or an animal shelter of their choice.
