Ventra,
I just want you to know that me and Mommy are praying for you and your entire family. I will never forget what your Mom said to me the very first time I met her, " child you got some big whole thighs" She didn't lie and all I can do was laugh. That was my moment I spent with her and even though it was for a short time I will never forget it. Much Love, Mel

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I was saddened to read of the passing of your mother, Mrs. Doris. I have know you all since early elementary school. We were neighbors for years and went through elementary and high school together. We visited each others house and ate food out of each others house. We shared as much as we could. Those were some of the better and finer days. Your mother taught us. I remember your mother as a beautiful lady who set examples for other women even young girls who wanted to be like her. I appreciate knowing her. I know you all will miss her. I am so glad you did what the Bible says. You honored and referenced her and took care of her. Be happy in knowing that. May God continue to strenghten all of you. My family, Mrs. Evelyn, Burgie, Gwen, Terry and Neecie send their condeolences also. God bless you all. Below is a poem I wrote for mothers. I hope it will comfort all of you.
Mother
Mother you were the first person I saw
When I entered this life
You nourished me, clothed me, sheltered me from the cold
You wiped my tears when I was sad
You soothed me when I was hurt
Mother you laughed with me when I was happy
Mother you taught me to love myself
You taught me to love God, the world and
All that is within it
Mother you listened when the problems
Of life fell on my shoulder
Mother, there comes a time when you
Who is my strongest bond
Need a little tender loving care in your life
As you have given me
So Mother, I will nourish you if you need it
I will dry the tears from your eyes
I will give you silver, gold, diamonds and pearls
I will bring you the joy of sweet laughter
I will always continue to take a few
Precious moments of my time
To show you how much I love you and care for you
Even when I can’t be present with you Mother
I will pick up the telephone and
I’ll be at your every call
Mother, I really love you and I need you in my life
So this Mothers Day I am wishing all that
The world and I can offer you
For my greatest joy is to make you the happiest Mother there will ever be

Anthony,
You, Cheryl, Ventra, and Lorrell are in our prayers as you experience this very challenging time in your lives. Your mom was a woman of faith and strength. She was unconditionally loved and meticulously cared for by her family. The tender care that you, Cheryl, and Vent tirelessly provided for her is a testimony and example for all of us who must surely travel this same road. We love you.
