Evelyn Tucker Buchanan

Mrs. Evelyn Tucker Buchanan, a resident of Autumn Square Assisted Living in Carrollton and formerly of Bowdon, passed away on October 2, 2017. She was 90. Mrs. Buchanan was born on February 18, 1927 in Woodland, Alabama to the late Claude and Lillor Tucker. She retired from Flat Rock Manufacturing in 1993 and was a member of Sardis Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Buchanan was preceded in death by her husband, Dillard R. Buchanan; her granddaughter, Tina Noles; her sisters, Thelma Tucker, Jessie Aultman, Wilma Wilson, Linda Wiggins, and Jean Wiggins; and her brother, Vurlis Tucker. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Frank Howard, Sharon and Dwayne Noles, and Shelia and Ronnie Young; her sister, Millie Smith; her brother, Doug Tucker; 7 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. EST at Sardis Baptist Church. Bro. Darnell Teal and Bro. Charley Bold will officiate. Music will be provided by Keith Noles and Tammy Holloway. Pallbearers will be Brandon Howard, Brad Young, Eddie Harrington, Jim Noles, Steve Buchanan and Sammy Allums. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 5:00 till 8:00 p.m. EST.
