George Mark Russell Obituary

A memorial service for Mr. George Mark Russell, 56, will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 23, 2016, at Grace Episcopal Church with The Rev. Dr. Lee F. Shafer officiating. A reception will immediately follow the memorial service. Mr. Russell went home to be with our Lord on May 17, 2016 at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham. Mr. Russell was a native of Key West, Florida. He was a graduate of Florida State University and The University of South Carolina Law School. He served for a time as an Assistant District Attorney in South Carolina and was an attorney in private practice in Anniston for 20 years. Mr. Russell was an avid Florida State University fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and dogs, and visiting his family home in Key West. Mr. Russell is preceded in death by his father, George Benjamin Russell. He is survived by his wife, Polly Enger Russell, of Anniston; his daughter, Maren Enger Russell, of Anniston; a son, Wilson Charles Russell, of Anniston; his mother, Sandra White Russell, of Key West, Fla.; a sister, Karen Russell Forbus and her husband, Jimmy, of Key West, Fla.; a brother, Scott Patrick Russell and his wife, Dianne, of Key West, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Beans and Rice Ministry of Grace Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 1791, Anniston, AL 36202.
