Gerald A. ""Tony"" Raper

Funeral services for Gerald A. "Tony" Raper, 48, of Gulfport, Fla., formerly of Jacksonville, will be Tuesday, May 10, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Angel Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Willie Hector and Stan Broom officiating. Burial will be West Point Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at K. L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Jacksonville from 6-8 p.m. Monday and for one hour prior to services at the church. Mr. Raper died Thursday, May 6, 2010 at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Melda A. Bryant Witherby and Michael, of Jacksonville; two brothers, Timothy Raper and his wife, Jan, of Clearwater, Fla. and Charles Michael Raper, of Douglas, Ga.; special friends, Susan Castleberry, Phil Oropesa, Mike Brentnall, Evan Morey, Carol Garner, Jeff Crimmins; his secretary, Jill Bunde and all 180 employees under his supervision at Central Parking. Pallbearers will be Tommy Kelso, Wade Howell, Mark Hafley, Eric Dryden, Mike Cauble, Billy Hughes, Michael Hughes and Jeff Lingenfelter. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Crimmins, Tim Cser, Matt Garner and Pete Clauss. Tony took pride in his work and held himself to a high standard of excellence. He enjoyed the respect and love of his employees and many friends. He truly loved playing golf and enjoyed fishing with his friends but his greatest pleasure was watching his beloved Crimson Tide roll. Tony was proud to be a member of the Cedar Springs Baptist Church.
