James Grizzard Obituary

Funeral services for James I. Grizzard Sr., 71, of Oxford, Ala., will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2011, in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles Wright will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Salt Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 till 8 at the funeral home. Mr. Grizzard died on Saturday at Regional Medical Center. Survivors include his sons, James I. "Jim" Grizzard (Natalie), Jody Grizzard, David Grizzard (Tammy), Patrick Grizzard; daughter, Tammy Grizzard Gerami; brothers, Michael Grizzard (Louise), Doyle Grizzard (Charlotte), Horace Grizzard (Donna), Keith Grizzard, Timmy Grizzard; sisters, Rita Mosley (Troy), Jean Sides (Troy); grandchildren, Heather Rutkowski, Christy Rutkowski, Justin Grizzard, Caleb Grizzard, Cobie Grizzard, Cory Ramsey, Zachery Grizzard, Dillion Grizzard, Jordan Silvia, Nathaniel Pepin, Joshua Grizzard, Judd Grizzard, Hayleigh Grizzard, Jakob Grizzard; great-grandchildren, Alona Bell, Braxton Bell, Alex Grizzard, Carson Pence, Shaylee Grizzard and Jaysten Grizzard. Pallbearers will be Joshua Grizzard, Judd Grizzard, Caleb Grizzard, Zachery Grizzard, Dillion Grizzard, Hunter Williams, Joseph Grizzard and Dee Ginn. Honorary Pallbearers will Jakob Grizzard and Cobie Grizzard. Mr. Grizzard was a resident of Oxford, Ala. He was retired from Anniston Army Depot. He also served in the US Army National Guard. Mr. Grizzard was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Zannie Grizzard; brothers, Thomas Grizzard, Wayne Grizzard; sisters, Norma Lewis, Shirley Elsa and a daughter, Tina Grizzard Roberts.
FOR THE RECORD" Mr. James I. Grizzard Sr. was survived by a grandson, Jonathan Grizzard. Serving as Honorary pallbearer was Justin Grizzard.
