Jenny Spencer Dothard

Funeral service for Jenny Spencer Dothard, 80, of Nances Creek will be Friday, November 17, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Garry Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Nances Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 – 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Dothard passed away Tuesday at RMC in Anniston. Survivors include two daughters, Kelly Luevano of Dallas, Texas and Shannon Homesley (Gerald) of Roy Webb; one son, Scott Dothard (Jenny) of Nances Creek; seven grandchildren, Megan Homesley, Olivia Schaefer (Michael), Emily Lankford (Josh), Joseph Dothard (Sabrina), Ann-Katherine Johnson (Jalen), Riley Dothard, and Brodie Homesley; nine great-grandchildren, Harper Freeman, Grayden Lankford, Graham Lankford, Vivian Schaefer, Libby Dothard, Harlan Grace Lankford, Lorelei Dothard, J.T. Dothard and Baby J Johnson; sister-in-law: Rose Dothard; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Joseph Dothard, Riley Dothard, Brodie Homesley, Jalen Johnson, Josh Lankford and Greg Dothard. Mrs. Dothard was a native of Talladega and was a graduate of Lincoln High School. She had been a resident of Calhoun County for the past 50 years. She had served on the Calhoun County Board of Education and retired as executive director of the Jacksonville Housing Authority. She was a wonderful cook, loved her family and enjoyed having them all together. She enjoyed life to the fullest, traveling and working on the farm. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Harlan Dothard; parents, Graves and Frances Spencer; and two sisters, Margaret Pope and Frankie Forrest.
