Joseph Copeland Obituary

ANNISTON — Services for Mr. Joseph H. "Poppy" (Kokomojo) Copeland III, 59, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2009, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Corman officiating. Burial will be in Eden Hills Cemetery with Anniston Funeral services in charge. The body will be at the church one hour prior to services. Mr. Copeland died on January 28, 2009 at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Louise Copeland, of Anniston; seven children, Joseph Copeland IV, Alfred A. Wyatt, Angela (Hugh) Crawford, Tanya (Gregory) Ransome, all of Baltimore, Md., Maurice A. Turner, of Seattle, Wash., Rhonda (Roderick) Threatt, and Sherdina (Wayne) Walker, both of Anniston; two sisters, Betty (Leon) Wilkins and Mary Copeland both of Baltimore, Md.; a special aunt, Velma Briar, of Aberdeen, Md.; 21 grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. Mr. Copeland was a Maryland native and a graduate of Calverton High School and worked for over 30 years at United States Department of Defense in Washington, D.C. "You have our deepest sympathy."
