Lanorris Siders

Funeral service for Lanorris Siders 66, "Pap" will be Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 1 pm at Gaines Chapel A.M.E. Church, with Rev. Shannon Fletcher, officiating. Interment will follow in Forestlawn Gardens. Masonic burial ritual at 5 pm Friday at Anniston Funeral Service Chapel. There will be no public viewing. Mr. Siders passed away on August 31, 2025 at Regional Medical Center. Mr. Siders was a member of Gaines Chapel AME Church. He graduated from Oak Grove High School, San Jose, California, where he was voted MVP. He received a football scholarship to the University of San Francisco. He retired from UPS after 35 years of service. Mr. Siders was a member of Jackson Pride Masonic Lodge 662. Survivors include his son: Olajuwon; his mother: Marvalene Buchanan Siders; brothers: Joseph Siders, Frederick Copeland; aunts and uncles: John and Sarah Buchanan, Helen Ellison, Jesse,Sr. and Diane Buchanan; nieces and nephews: Shampianne McCall, Marvalene, Keeshawna McCall, Johnny Buchanan III, Jackie Carswell, Bernard Ellison, Kimberly Kennedy, Shari Siders, Edrice Buchanan, Lashawn Dearing, Celeste Harris, Peter and JJ, Donna Davis and Kathy Torres, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Margaret Buchanan and sister, Cynthia Siders.
