Julie Ann Adams was born on January 28, 1936 to Albert and Lola Ramon in
Dinuba, California and passed away on March 13, 2026 in
Fresno, California at the age of 90.
The oldest of three children, Julie grew up on the family farm and helped in her father's store, A. Ramon Clothing Store in
Dinuba, California. Julie graduated from Dinuba High School in 1953 and went on to earn her bachelor's degree in Education in 1957 from Fresno State. In 1987, Julie earned her master's degree in Education from the University of San Francisco.
In 1956, Julie met the love of her life, Thomas Rex Adams and they married on April 14, 1957, in
Fresno, California. They were blessed with two sons, Darren and Lance, who were their pride and joy. Julie and Tom were happily married for 56 years, to the day, until his untimely passing in 2013.
For over 40 years, Julie was a dedicated educator beginning her career at Fresno Unified and held many roles from teacher to learning director, vice principal to principal; ending her tenure at the district's Multilingual Multicultural Department. Julie also served on the board of directors for the California League of Middle Schools and was a contributor to educational published works. After retiring from Fresno Unified, Julie continued her passion for education by mentoring future educators as a university supervisor at Fresno State. Julie was an extremely hard worker who reveled in all her accomplishments and instilled her strong work ethic and values in her sons and grandchildren.
Artistically talented, Julie enjoyed painting, music and the theater, crafting, decorating, and organizing/arranging gift baskets for the church boutiques. She was an avid reader often staying up late to finish a book in one night. Julie enjoyed cooking, hosting parties, being outside in the garden, spending time at the coast, collecting her favorite treasures, and playing bridge with friends.
Julie and Tom were active members of their church and community and proudly supported Fresno State Athletics for many years. Memories of tailgating, watching football and basketball games, taking their first airplane and train rides to San Francisco, shopping, going to the movies and plays, and spending Sundays at church will fondly be remembered by her grandchildren.
Affectionally known by her family as Mimi, Julie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was a caring woman who cherished her family and friends and touched the lives of many. Julie will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Julie is survived by her son, Lance Adams and his wife Jamie Adams; daughter-in-law, Reyna Adams; grandchildren, Cara Adolphson and her husband Eric Adolphson, Brianne Adams, Derek Adams and his wife Alma Adams, Shannon Adams and her husband Esteban Valencia Garcia, Christine Adams; great-grandchildren, Matthew Adolphson, Luke Adolphson, Alek Adams, Colton Adams, Priseis Blythe, Zania Adams, and Karim Valencia Adams. Julie is also survived by her sister, Susan Ramon and her wife Ellen Trossman, and beloved extended family and friends.
Julie was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Adams; son, Darren Adams; parents, Albert and Lola Ramon; sister, Juanita Ramon and great-grandson, Rex Adams.

Visitation~ 3:00 P.M - 6:00 P.M March 25, 2026, will be held at Jay Chapel in
Madera, California.
A private graveside service will be held at Reedley Cemetery.
