Mildred Abernathy Obituary

Funeral service for Mildred Abernathy, 90, will be on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at 11 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Roosevelt Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville City Cemetery. Mrs. Abernathy passed away on July 6, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Bessmer. Mrs. Abernathy's remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to her service. Mrs. Abernathy was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church and served with the Sr. Choir, Missionary Society and was the Mother of the Church. Survivors include children, Barbara Harmon, Larry (Sharon) Abernathy, Homer J. (Yvonne) Abernathy, Donald (Starla) Abernathy and Wayne Abernathy; siblings, Maggie Moore, Isabell Walker and Henry Moore; 13 grandchildren; 14 great- grand children; two daughters-in-law and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ida Moore and her husband, Homer E. Abernathy. Anniston Funeral Service Rev. Jeffrey C. Williams 256-236-0319
