Mr. Bookman a man of God and courage. I always had and will love music but I've never saw anyone play that piano like you while singing and directing at the same time. Awesome player and I thank you for allowing me to be a part of Bookman & Company but most of all I thank you for allowing God to use you. Rest well and I send my deepest sympathy to the family.

I was sorry to read of the passing of Bro. Bookman. As a member of Mt. Liberty Baptist Church, when I visited home it was always an inspiration to hear him playing on the organ. It lifted my soul as we praised God. I really missed him when he left Mt. Liberty. I pray God strengthen you his family. He will soon be with the Lord as all of us who are his true believers. The 150th Psalm tells us to praise the Lord with his instruments and that is what he did. Rest in peace, our brother.

I met Bro. Bookman in 1974 playing that Organ, Directing and Singing all at the same time we became closer as years pass. Inviting him over for Thanksgiving dinners with the family, and he would get on the piano and we start singing laughing and eating. Later years he join with "WMOC" There has never been a time I needed Na or he needed me we wasn't there for each other. Take your rest my friend. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord..I WILL MISS YOU.
