Olene A. Arrington

Piedmont - Funeral services for Olene A. Arrington, 82, will be at 3 p.m. today at Thompson Funeral Home with Dr. Kipp McClurg and the Rev. Jay Daugherty officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 1-3 p.m. Mrs. Arrington passed away Monday at her home. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Samuel M. Arrington; a son, Rev. Eric M. Arrington (Diane), of Piedmont; a granddaughter, Erica Lemons (Jonathan), of Piedmont; two great-grandchildren, Brody Lemons and Tyson Lemons, both of Piedmont; her twin sister, Orene A. Hamrick, of Piedmont; special friends, Vorice McBurnett and Tim and Wanda Cowan; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Phillip Hamrick, Steve Weems, Randy Steed, Scott Stephens, Jonathan Lemons and Tim Cowan. Honorary pallbearers will be the Frank Wofford Sunday School Class of the First United Methodist Church of Piedmont. Mrs. Arrington was a native and lifelong resident of Spring Garden and Piedmont. She retired from SCT Yarn with 38 years of service. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Piedmont where she was active in the Spice of Life Club. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jared Arrington; her parents, Jim and Margie Amberson; four brothers; and two sisters.
