Paul Edward Murphy

Paul Edward Murphy (b. Mar 24, 1948), beloved son of the late Zebedee Murphy, Sr. and the late Ruby Lee Shands Murphy, departed this world peacefully to be in the presence of God on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at his home in College Park, Georgia, leaving behind a legacy of love for his family and friends. Paul has been described by many as a mentor, one who gives a positive & thoughtful perspective, and a man who can play any needed role (brother, father, uncle, friend). To his girls he was an always-there-on-time protector. To all he was one of a kind. For those of us who know, love, & cherish Paul, our faith in God has rendered us peace because of the promise of everlasting life. Paul leaves to honor his legacy his wife of 52 years, Noretha Mays Murphy; three daughters, Kashka Noni Murphy, Qadeera Malika Murphy and Yakka Nakia Murphy; three grandsons, Thaddeus Malik Nkosi Murphy (Jasmine), Nikkious Jabari Tyrik Swanigan, Elias Jared Sherman-Murphy; a great-grandson, Amaan Aseer Malik Murphy; an aunt, Hazel Jackson; five sisters, Harriet Elston, Margaret Williams (Houston), Karen Murphy, Shelia Murphy and Angel Murphy; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
