A celebration of life for Robert A. Pyles, 88, of Hobson City, will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 12:00pm at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Hobson City with Pastor Judge L. Stringer, III, officiating and Pastor Dr. Robert Pyles, eulogist. Interment will be in the Hobson City Memorial Gardens. A public viewing will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 3pm-7pm at the funeral home. Professional services entrusted to S.M. Goodson Funeral Home-Anniston. On November 21, 1936, Robert A. Pyles was born to the late Mr. Holly Pyles and Mrs. Nellie Dumas in Hobson City, Alabama. Robert committed his life to Christ at an early age at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Calhoun County Training School in Hobson City, Alabama. After graduating in 1956, he proudly served his country in the United States Army for over 20 years. He retired and received an honorable discharge. Following his military service, Robert was employed with the Anniston Army Depot where he worked 17 years until he retired. He was a former Mayor of Hobson City, Alabama and was very active in his community. Robert A. Pyles peacefully departed from this earthly realm on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the age of 88 while under the care of Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Alabama surrounded by loved ones. Upon answering the Master's call, Robert was reunited with his father, mother, four sisters, niece, nephew, and a great nephew. Robert will forever be remembered for his unwavering love as a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His legacy lives on through his loving wife of 60 years, Katie R. Pyles; children, Noble Jean (Robert) Blackwell of Alexandria, Alabama, Johnny (Geraldine) Smith of Cleveland, Ohio, Frederick (Lasonya) Ammons of Auburn, Alabama, and Robert (Betty) Pyles of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. Rest in eternal peace Robert, Father, Pop, and Unk. You will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
