AGE: 98 SOMERSET
Adela F. Comiso, died Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at Spring Hills Care Center, Somerset. She was 98. Mrs. Comiso was born in Culebra, Puerto Rico and came to New York when she was 17 years old. She was most recently a resident of Spring Hills Care Center in Somerset. Mrs. Comiso worked as a clerk for Manufacturers Hanover Bank in New York, retiring in 1964. She was a gentle person, who was loved by all that knew her. She was a giving and kind person, known to send money to relatives back home in Puerto Rico. Mrs. Comiso was always willing to lend a hand to those in need, share a smile with the many people that surrounded her, and graciously and unconditionally loved her many family members and friends
She married Leo Comiso on Oct. 11, 1969. He preceded her in death on May 6, 1993. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Paul, Charles, William, Frederick, Ernest, and Frank Fischbach; and her sisters, Helen Fischbach, Franny Gutierez, and Carmen Vanegas. She is survived by her three siblings, Richard Fischbach, Henry Fischbach, and Anita Fischbach, all of Puerto Rico; 26 nieces and nephews; and her sister-in-law, Raquel Fischbach of Somerset.
Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 29 at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton St., Somerset. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon Thursday at St. Matthias R.C.
