Irene Comiso (fondly known as "Sam"), 75 of Yardley, PA, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at her residence in Yardley, PA.
Born in Trenton, there she was raised and resided for most of her life before settling down in Yardley 10 years ago. She was a graduate of Trenton Central High School. Due to outstanding academics, she was chosen to work at the Mary Roebling Building as an assistant to Mary Roebling during and after high school. Irene worked as a Civil Servant with the Department of Election Law and State Enforcement where she greeted and enjoyed interacting with the public with her wonderful personality and smile for 29 years until her retirement.
Irene was an avid animal lover. During her lifetime she rescued, fed, vetted, and found homes for countless animals in distress. She had a heart of gold and befriended everyone. Irene was a kind, generous, and caring person who was always willing to lend an ear and help in any way possible. She was outgoing, sassy, and could spark up a conversation with literally anyone she would meet. Her love, charm, and presence will be deeply missed.
In her free time, Irene enjoyed working on her beautiful garden. She had quite an amazing green thumb. She also enjoyed shopping, trips to hair salon, getting dolled up to frequent her favorite restaurants, watching old movies with her faithful companion, Lovey, sitting outside chatting with her neighbors, and watching and feeding the birds.
Irene's memory will be carried on by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Ginger and John Olschewski; her grandchildren, Christopher Olschewski and his wife, Kelsey, and Michael Olschewski and his wife, Sylvia; her great grandchild, Theo; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Mike Sniadach of MA; her Neice, Mary Jane King and her precious cat, Lovey, who is safely in the care of Ginger and John.
Irene is predeceased by her parents, Marcin and Stella Malawski; her brother, Ted Malawski; and her nephews, Paul and Michael Sniadach.
A Memorial Gathering for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. with Memorial Services directly following at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ.
Cremation services were held privately.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Irene's memory to any pet rescue of the donor's choice.

I am so sorry for your loss of Sam. Even though I did not personally know her, she became such a faithful, kind, and loving neighbor to my daughter. She will be greatly missed.
