Martha Trapani Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by A.S. Cole Son & Co. on Feb. 9, 2026.
Martha V. Trapani, 73, born October 24, 1952, peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 5th, 2026, surrounded by her family at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton, New Jersey.

Born in Trenton, Martha was a lifelong resident of the Hightstown area and a proud graduate of Hightstown High School, Class of 1970. In her adult life, she worked as an electric board soldering technician for RCA in East Windsor for several years. She then spent some time working at Meadow Lakes, as well as a hostess at Willows Restaurant in the Merrill Lynch Conference and Training Center in Plainsboro. She eventually settled and assisted in taking care of her grandmother, and eventually both of her parents.

Martha was known for her wit, humor, kindness, generosity, and creativity. She had a deep love for the band Queen and an even deeper love for dogs, having many beloved pets throughout her life. She cherished her four sisters and the nieces and nephews they brought into her world.

She enjoyed many hobbies, including baking cakes, decorating glass vases with beadwork, doing makeup, and singing karaoke, which was one of her greatest joys, since she always found comfort and happiness in music.

Martha is predeceased by her parents, Vito and Marie Trapani. She is survived by her lifelong friend, Joyce Petrino; her uncle, Angelo (Brenda) Trapani; her four sisters, Maria Patton of Trenton NJ; Lee Martin (Frank) of Hightstown NJ; Angela Reen (Michael) of Fort Worth TX; and Sandra Negrete (Ulises) of Bordentown NJ; her seven nieces and nephews, Christina Van Hise, Jason Nugent (Deilani), Michaelina Kraemer (Peter), Cara Herrick, Andrea Applegate (Nolan), Faustina Negrete, and Michael Negrete; her many great-nieces and great-nephews whom she loved dearly; and her cherished dog, Maisy.

Martha will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who made her acquaintance.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 156 Maxwell Ave, Hightstown, NJ 08520.

Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hightstown.

Cremation Services were held privately.
