Marilyn L. (Dey) Adams, 74, of
Dayton, NJ, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at her home.
Born in
Princeton, NJ, Marilyn was raised in South Brunswick on her family's farm, Clarence Dey Farms. A Tom-boy in her youth, she loved growing up on the farm, joyriding in the field truck starting at the age of 12, horseback riding with friends and playing on the farm with her cousin, Randall "Randy" Dey, who lived with the family and was like a brother to her.
She was a graduate of South Brunswick High School, Class of 1969, where she loved being a majorette. After high-school she went on to start a family, having her two beloved children Tina and Anthony, with her first husband Tony Cosumano. After separating from her first husband, she met the love of her life, Douglas Adams in 1976.
Marilyn was an avid reader, a Miami Dolphin Fan, and enjoyed NASCAR as well. Above all else she was devoted to caring for her family, and treasured raising her granddaughter, Tiffany, who was her pride and joy. Doing kind gestures for her family and friends was her hobby and life's work. Her kind ways made the simplest encounters special.
Along the many career paths she followed, she made many lasting friendships with her funny, kind and upbeat personality. Marilyn and her husband, Doug, owned and operated a Dry-Cleaning business while living in Tennessee, until she returned to her roots in South Brunswick upon Doug's untimely passing. After returning to New Jersey, she worked for many years in accounts receivable at McMaster Carr and then in medical billing at Offsite Management Services and McKesson/Change Healthcare. She also spent time working as a Real Estate agent for 21 Century Abrams, Hutchinson & Associates and at the South Brunswick Family YMCA as a Member Services associate. Most recently she was working part time in the cafeteria system in the East Windsor school district, where serving the children brought her much joy.
Marilyn loved to see new places, among the many trips she had taken, she most recently visited the Creation Museum and The Ark Adventure – Noah's Ark, in Kentucky. She enjoyed going to NASCAR races at many tracks including Dover, Daytona, and Talladega, seeing Miami Dolphin's Stadium and Dan Marino's locker! As well as attending Super Bowl XVII in '83 to see the Dolphins play. She also loved walks on the beach~ any beach, watching the ocean waves roll in, spending time at Island Beach State Park, and enjoying clams and live music on the Seaside boardwalk.
Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, Marilyn S. and Clarence W. Dey, Jr.; her beloved husband, Douglas A. Adams; her son-in-law, Michael Sadis; and cousins, including Randall "Randy" Dey and Linda Bosowski. She is survived by her children, Anthony M. Cosumano, Tina M.
