Barbara Turner

Barbara Turner of North Brunswick passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, March 16, 2026, at the age of 81.

Born and raised in Brooklyn New York, Barbara moved to East Brunswick NJ in 1978 and later settled in North Brunswick, NJ, in 2000.

Barbara worked as a self-employed daycare provider in East Brunswick and North Brunswick, where she devoted her life to caring for children. Over the years, she fostered more than 60 children and played a significant role in raising her grandchildren, Aaliyah, Arianna, and Jacob DeGeorge. She had a deep love for animals, especially dogs. She enjoyed heartwarming, feel-good television shows and movies like Hallmark, Lassie, and Jimmy Swaggart programs that brought joy and comfort.

Barbara's faith in Jesus was the foundation of her life. She did not simply attend church; she lived a life devoted to Him every day. She attended services at New Life Worship Center in Dayton and East Brunswick Assembly of God.

She was predeceased by her brother Jack Fenn and her sister Rosemary Herbert.

Barbara is survived by her beloved husband Joseph; her children, Denise DeGeorge and spouse Nycolle Hill of Somerset NJ; Peter DeGeorge and his wife Allison of Pittman NJ; Joseph DeGeorge and his wife Tara of Avenel NJ; and Michele Napolitani of Ocean NJ; daughters Cassandra DeGeorge of Harrisburg PA; Doreen Norako of Manalapan NJ; her stepdaughter, Jessica Turner of Wayne NJ; her sister Susan D'Ambrosio of Montana; her brother-in-law Bob D' Ambrosio; sister-in-law Jessie Fenn; and 12 cherished grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gleason Funeral Home of North Brunswick, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick, NJ 08902. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 25, 2026, at 10 AM at the Fresh Ponds Chapel of the Gospel Mission Corp 275 Fresh Ponds Road South Brunswick, NJ 08810, with Repast to follow.
