Adele Harrington Obituary
AGE: 90 • Waretown
Adele Ruth Harrington (nee Jessen), age 90, passed away peacefully at her home on October 2nd, 2014. Born January 23rd, 1924 in Keansburg, NJ to Richard A. and Grace M. Jessen. Adele, lovingly known as Nana to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loved spending time with her family friends. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, cooking, playing games, dancing and all kinds of crafts.
Adele was predeceased by her husband, Gerald M., her daughter, Joyce L., and her sister Vivian M. Watschke. Surviving are her grandchildren, Edward W. Vanderbilt Jr., Cheryl L. and her husband James Nace, James J. and his wife Maria Vanderbilt; her great-grandchildren, Eddie, Alyssa, Ashley, Richard, Kelly and her husband Troy, Elizabeth and her husband Doug, and Grace; her great-great grandchildren, Lillian, Alexander, James and Tristan; along with her many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Viewing will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014 from 9am until the time of the service at 11am at Riggs Funeral Home, 130 North Main Street Forked River, NJ 08731. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Keansburg Historical Society PO Box 7, Keansburg, NJ 07734 in Adele's memory.
