ALFRED H. MULLENBROCK
AGE: 78 BERKELEY
Alfred H. Mullenbrock, 78, of the Holiday Heights section of Berkeley, died Friday, July 30, 2010, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and lived in Queens, N.Y. prior to moving to Holiday Heights 15 years ago. He was in the U.S. Air Force, serving in the Korean War. He was a supervisor for Chase-Manhattan Bank. He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manchester, Free and Accepted Mason, and a member of the Scottish Rite.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret (nee Voege); one son, Richard and his wife Cheryl of Staten Island, N.Y.; one daughter, Karen and her husband Paul VanderVlis of Staten Island, N.Y.; one brother, Walter of Richmond, Va.; and three grandchildren, Steven, Patricia, and Alex.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1 and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, with an evening service at 7:30 p.m. at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River. Burial will be Tuesday, Aug. 3 at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holiday Heights First Aid Squad, 120 Prince Charles Drive, Toms River, NJ 08757.
