Alfred T. Ruf

AGE: 105 • Whiting

ALFRED T. RUF, 105 yrs old, of Crestwood Manor, Whiting, NJ passed away on August 6, 2015. Born in Jersey City, he lived in New York City and Leisure Village West before moving to Crestwood Manor in April 2000. He is predeceased by his wife, Edith G. Ruf and is survived by a sister, Berthe Keeter of Fort Worth, Texas and seven nieces and nephews.

Mr. Ruf was the Manager of Administrative Services for Ebasco Services Inc, New York City before retiring in 1974. He was a life member of the Administrative Management Society having served as President of the New York Chapter and a member of the Advisory Council for 17 years. He was the recipient of the diamond merit award for outstanding leadership in the field of management. He served as a member of the Advisory Council on Business Education for the City of New York and was Chairman of the Management Committee for the National Business Show.

During WWII he served two years in Europe with the Army. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Toms River. A memorial service will be held on November 7, 2015 at 1:00pm at Crestwood Manor, 50 Lacey Road, Whiting, NJ 08759.
