Alice Hagan Trelease

AGE: 69 • Tinton Falls

Alice Hagan Trelease, 69, of Tinton Falls, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, Oct. 17, 2011. Alice was the daughter of John and Alice Hagan and grew up in Chicago, Ill. She received her bachelor's degree from Loyola University Chicago. She was a very active communicant of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church in Rumson, where she served as Altar Guild Chair, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and Our Lady's Visitors. Alice was also very active with Holy Cross School where she previously served as PTA president, member of the school board and Antique Show chairman. Alice also served as a board member with the Mental Health Association of Monmouth County and the Women's Board of Misericordia. You could find her anywhere her family or community needed her.

Alice was predeceased by her parents, and a brother and sister-in-law, Timothy and Lois Trelease. She is survived by her husband, John R. Trelease; daughters, Laura Trelease of New York City, and Jeanne Clements and husband James of Chicago, Ill.; sisters, Marian Sullivan and husband Andrew of St. Charles, Ill., and Rosemary Hagan of Lake Forest, Ill.; brothers-in-law, David Trelease and wife Marilyn of Ft. Myers Beach, Fla., and Paul Trelease of Ocean Grove; sister-in-law, Mary Beth Trelease of Eatontown; nieces, Stephanie and Rosemary Sullivan of Chicago, Ill., and Charity Foss-Pedersen and husband Nicholas of London; nephews, Andrew Sullivan of St. Charles, Ill., and Justin Trelease and wife Heather of Denver, Colo.; and two great-nephews. Alice also leaves behind loving cousins and many friends.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21 at the John E. Day FAMILY CENTER, 33 Allen Place, Red Bank. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 at Holy Cross R.C. Church, Rumson. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Misericordia, 6300 N. Ridge Ave., Chicago, IL 60660 or www.misericordia.org.
