Ann Callahan Obituary
Quincy, MA - Ann Marie Callahan, 87, a lifelong resident of Quincy, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2018. Ann was a beautiful person who was loved and cherished and will be missed dearly. Ann enjoyed a full life working for Selective Service and then at the accounting firm of Darmody Merlino & Company, in Boston, Mass. Ann's life exemplified one in the Catholic faith, serving as a Eucharistic Minister at St. John the Baptist Parish Church in Quincy for many years. She enjoyed weekly card games with her friends and trips visiting family or a nearby casino for entertainment.
Ann was legendary for being that one of a kind sister and aunt some are blessed to have in their lives. Her generosity and willingness to help so many will never be forgotten. "E" as she was affectionately called never missed a birthday, anniversary, or the little events of life like the passing of an important school test, a horse show, a basketball tournament or a football game. Memories of pool parties, parades, player pianos and the sound of her voice will always bring a smile to our faces but most importantly the unconditional love she showered on everyone will be etched in our hearts forever.
Loved ones who cleared the path for Ann are her parents, Anna and James J. Callahan.; and her nephew Thomas Edward Welch 3rd. Ann is survived by her four sisters; Barbara Callahan, Claire Welch Majeski and her husband Anthony, Ellen Callahan and Cathy Snodgrass, her nieces; Tracy Elizabeth Welch Portmann and Leslie Welch Campbell and her husband Jay, her nephews; John Gibbons and his wife Terry and Brian Snodgrass, her grand nephews; Oliver Portmann, Thomas Welch IV, Jack Campbell, John and Thomas Gibbons, her grandnieces; Blake, Lili and Chase Portmann, Ella Campbell, Shannon and Noelle Welch, and Katie Gibbons.
