AGE: 71 BRICK
Anna P. Mackeravage Genz, 71, of Brick, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 28, 2009, at home, with her loving family by her side after a brief and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born and raised in Shenandoah, Pa., she briefly lived in Elizabeth and Linden before moving to Brick in 1962. Anna was previously employed by the N.J. State Police Laboratory in Sea Girt, and she had volunteered at Point Pleasant Hospital. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Pauline Mackeravage; her brother, Carl; her sister, Joan Mackeravage; her twin sister, Regina Mackeravage; and her son-in-law, Joseph Honeker. Surviving are her husband of 48 years, John L. Genz; a son, John C. Genz and his wife Jill of Brick; three daughters, Suzanne Ianni and her husband Sam of Natick, Mass., Karen Honeker of Toms River, and Sharon Maxwell and her husband Tom of Toms River; a sister, Helen Cicioni of Shenandoah, Pa.; 12 cherished grandchildren, Joseph, Corinne and Lauren Ianni, Joey Brian and Kevin Honeker, Lindsey, Nikki and Jake Maxwell, and Carl, Christopher and Matthew Genz; and her niece, Shannon and nephew, Stephen.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 1 at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 2 at St. Joseph's Church, Toms River. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Toms River. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Anna's memory.
